Medical Ethics

Have you ever needed to make a difficult decision about the health care services to be received by you or a loved one? It's a situation no one needs to face alone.

Providence Alaska's Medical Ethics Program serves as a resource for patients, family members and physicians when health care decision-making becomes a challenge. The Program is a free decision-making resource for patients, family members, physicians and staff

Members of Providence's Medical Ethics Program are a multidisciplinary group of certified ethicists, medical and non-medical staff, and members of the clergy and community who have been trained to help address ethical dilemmas encountered in the care of patients.

Advance Directives

Individuals can help avoid the need for a consultation by communicating their treatment preferences on an Advance Directive.
