NEWS RELEASE
Want to work? Providence offers new opportunity to
ONA-represented nurses
Following many requests from nurses who are looking for another chance to return to work, and in support of those nurses and our commitment to care for our patients and communities, Providence ministries are offering an opportunity for ONA-represented acute-care nurses.
We are sending communications today for all hospital nurses with instructions on how to report in-person on Sunday, Jan. 19. We also have that information available on all our internal communication channels. Any nurse who has questions about the reporting for work process should contact their supervisor.
BACKGROUND:
- Represented caregivers have the right to strike, or to come to work to care for our patients. Providence will not retaliate against caregivers for making either choice.
- Caregivers who no longer want to strike must report to work on designated return-to-work reporting windows, even if they are normally not scheduled on those days, to share their intent to work.
- Providence has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards bullying, harassment or any other form of mistreatment within our ministry. If you experience any form of mistreatment, please talk with your core leader and submit a report to HR/caregiver relations.
