Safe Kids & Car Seat Technician

Riding in the car is the most dangerous activity most kids do on a daily basis. Safe Kids Spokane and Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital’s child Passenger Safety program empowers parents and care givers to keep kids safe in the family vehicle by providing education and hands on training virtually or in person. These opportunities are available at Sacred Heart Hospital or at a community event. We also provide consults for transporting children with special healthcare or behavioral needs.

Our child passenger safety technicians are available to offer trainings for foster care transporters, bus drivers and aides, and other people who provide transportation for children. Each fall, we offer a certification course to become a certified child passenger safety technician.

Safe Kids Spokane is also involved in other childhood injury prevention efforts. We provide education and resources for wheeled sports helmet safety, drowning prevention, poisonings and medication safety, safe routes to school, and various other safety projects. We have partners from a wide range of agencies including Spokane Police Department, Cheney Fire Department, Spokane Fire Department, Spokane County Fire, Spokane Valley Fire, SCOPE, Spokane Public Schools, Spokane Regional Health, and many others.
