In partnership with board-certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists from the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, the Center for Maternal-Fetal Health provides comprehensive on-site services in a warm, caring and compassionate environment.
Our multidisciplinary team of professionals is experienced in the care and treatment of patients with maternal-fetal health conditions. Our core team includes:
- Board-Certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists
- Perinatal Specialists
- Ultrasound Technicians
- Registered Nurses
With empathetic care and treatments, our comprehensive team of perinatal specialists evaluate symptoms and provide treatment for maternal-fetal conditions such as:
- Multiple gestations (twins, triplets, etc.)
- Fetal anomalies
- History of fetal or genetic anomalies in a prior pregnancy
- History of preterm birth or labor
- Advanced maternal age
- Diabetes, both gestational and Type 1 or Type 2
- Maternal hypertension
Committed to caring for both mothers and babies, services at the Center for Maternal-Fetal Health include:
- Non-stress test – Evaluates your baby’s well-being by monitoring heart-rate
- Prenatal ultrasound with 3D/4D capabilities - Various ultrasound screenings enable us to follow fetal development through each stage of pregnancy and share information with your obstetrician
- Nuchal Translucency (NT) – First trimester ultrasound to determine whether your baby is at risk for chromosomal abnormalities
- Fetal Echocardiography - A specialized ultrasound that details the structure of the baby's heart
- Genetic testing and counseling - If you have a family history of certain diseases, genetic testing can be used to find out if these diseases can be inherited.
- Amniocentesis - A small sampling of amniotic fluid is collected during the second trimester if it is suspected that your baby may have a possible chromosomal abnormality such as Down syndrome or other genetic conditions.
- Chorionic Villus sampling (CVS) - A small sampling performed during the first trimester that may also provide information on chromosomal abnormalities if needed.
