  • Yearly wellness exams
  • Pregnancy care

Conditions treated

We care for you through life’s range of changes and health conditions. See us for issues such as:

  • Infertility
  • Abnormal bleeding
  • Menopause
  • Endometriosis
  • Urinary incontinence

Our certified nurse-midwives offer integrated, holistic support for your pregnancy and birth within the safety of the hospital. We help expecting moms through shared decision making to prepare for motherhood, stay healthy during pregnancy and deliver babies according to their birth plan. Our nurse-midwives also provide comprehensive women's health care, including annual exams, birth-control counseling, menopausal care and primary care.

Our midwives care for you and your baby in the hospital. This means you receive continuous support and personalized care along with the safety and resources of a high-level medical facility. At Kadlec, we have specialized physicians and, if needed, the only level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in the area.

Studies show that families who partner with nurse midwives have fewer cesarean sections, labor inductions, medical and surgical interventions, and preterm deliveries. Midwifery care also leads to increased rates of breastfeeding, earlier detection of post-partum depression and anxiety and increased rates of positive birth experiences.

Personalized care

Our midwives work with you and your family to understand your preferences and plans, making sure your experience is personalized. Starting early in your pregnancy and continuing through delivery, we want you to be as comfortable as possible.

Your midwife will start with your medical history and a complete physical exam. As your pregnancy progresses, they’ll talk with you to ensure an experience that’s right for you. And our team-based approach means there’s always someone there for you.

Our midwife services include:

  • Prenatal care
  • Continuous assistance during labor and delivery
  • Individualized education, counseling and prenatal care
  • Monitoring of your physical, psychological and social well-being throughout pregnancy and childbirth
  • Hospital birth
  • Pap smears & wellness promotion
  • Family planning
  • Infection screening
  • Conception planning & fertility
  • Menopausal care
  • Referrals for women who require obstetrical attention
