Diabetes Education
Facey Medical Group's Patient Education Department has certified diabetes educators, dietitians and clinical pharmacists who provide comprehensive diabetes education and management services to both our patients and the community. We offer a variety of group education classes to support lifestyle changes that can help prevent the onset of diabetes or make it easier to manage existing health conditions. We train patients how to test their blood glucose level and use insulin delivery equipment, such as syringes, pens and pumps. Our team also provides patients with glucometers when needed, as well as diet and nutrition assistance to help patients adjust to their new lifestyle.
Referrals
Our group diabetes programs and health education classes are open to the public and do not require a physician referral. One-on-one sessions with educators and dietitians are only available if you have been referred to the program by your Facey physician. One-on-one appointments with a clinical pharmacist don't require a referral, but you must be a current Facey patient.
Cost
Our group diabetes programs are offered at no cost to you. The cost for individual appointments varies based on your health insurance benefits and a co-payment may apply. As a courtesy, Facey offers private discounts for patients who are not covered by insurance.
