RENTON, Wash., March 20, 2025 – Providence is proud to announce that Shweta Ponnappa, senior vice president and chief marketing and digital experience officer, has been recognized as one of 2025’s Leading Women by Modern Healthcare.
Shweta Ponnappa has transformed patient engagement and operational efficiency across Providence's expansive network through AI and strategic marketing innovations, highlighting her pivotal role in establishing Providence as a leader in patient-centered care.
“I am truly honored to be recognized alongside such inspiring women who are driving meaningful change to health care, carrying the torch forward first lit for Providence by Mother Joseph in 1856,” said Ponnappa. “This acknowledgment is a testament to the incredible teamwork and innovation happening every day at Providence. Together, we'll keep pushing for health care transformation to ensure everyone gets the health care they deserve.”
This prestigious recognition program acknowledges and honors women executives from all sectors of the health care industry for their contributions to care delivery improvement, health equity, policy, and gender equity in health care leadership.
“The roles held by the honorees on our 2025 list of Leading Women and Rising Stars vary greatly, but they all have one thing in common — a commitment to helping their organizations reach clinical, operational, and financial goals,” said Mary Ellen Podmolik, editor-in-chief of Modern Healthcare. “Their leadership and achievements are propelling the industry forward, both in terms of improving the patient experience and serving as mentors for other women in health care.”
“Providence is proud of the contributions Shweta has made to the organization and to healthcare overall,” said Sara Vaezy, Providence chief transformation officer. “She is one of the most accomplished and forward-thinking consumer and marketing leaders in the country, and thanks to the work of her and her team, our communities can more easily find and access Providence services. We are grateful to her for her leadership.”
