“The best care I have ever received at any hospital. The nurses, doctors and staff go the extra mile to ensure their patients are taken care of, comfortable and safe.”

MISSION HILLS (Jan. 28, 2025) – Providence Holy Cross Medical Center was named today among one of 11 California hospitals included in America’s 50 Best Hospitals, the sixth straight year the hospital has been recognized for excellence and outstanding patient outcomes.

The award from Healthgrades, a market leader in connecting doctors and patients, places the Mission Hills hospital among the top 1 percent of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance across the most common conditions and procedures.

“Every single one of our doctors and staff members owns this award,” said Bernard Klein, M.D., the hospital’s chief executive. “The commitment and compassion are across-the-board, from the teams that keep our hospital clean and safe to the doctors, nurses and clinicians. I’m filled with gratitude for their drive to continually raise the bar on quality care.”

Providence Holy Cross was one of just four Greater Los Angeles Area hospitals named to the list and one of two in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys

In addition to Healthgrades America’s 50 Best Hospitals award, the hospital also was recognized in 2024 by Healthgrades with its Patient Safety Excellence Award, placing it among the nation’s safest acute care hospitals evaluated by Healthgrades. Additionally, U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital among the best in California. The organization also named Holy Cross one of America’s 100 Best hospitals for cardiac care and for critical care.

Providence Holy Cross’s achievements are based exclusively on what matters most: patient outcomes. To determine the top hospitals for 2025, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Healthgrades’ annual analysis revealed significant performance gaps among the nation’s highest- and lowest-achieving hospitals, making it increasingly important to seek care at a top-rated facility. In fact, from 2021-23, patients treated at one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals had a 24.2% lower risk of dying than if they were treated at hospitals that did not receive the award.

“As one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals, Providence Holy Cross is elevating the standard for quality care nationwide,” said Brad Bowman, M.D., chief medical officer and head of data science at Healthgrades. “Healthgrades commends this hospital for its leadership and ongoing commitment to providing the best possible care for all patients in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys.”

Holy Cross patients routinely are surveyed shortly after they leave the hospital, and their comments reflect excellence and compassion:

"I couldn't be more grateful. Everyone was attentive, caring and took really good care of me. That was the best hospital experience I've ever had. It was an amazing experience. 10 stars! Because I am so grateful, I want to give back and volunteer at this hospital.”

“Holy Cross has an excellent team, from the cleaning service workers to the doctors and nurses. I was in the hospital for a month before and the food was great too, I loved it. I love everything about Holy Cross.”

“The best hospital, nurses and doctors I have seen!”
