Dr. Laura Shelton named Chief Medical Officer for Providence Montana Medical Group
Dr. Laura Shelton was recently named Chief Medical Officer for Providence Montana Medical Group. Dr. Shelton will lead clinical operations for Providence Medical Group’s 40 clinics and urgent care facilities throughout Western Montana, which includes over 20 adult and pediatric primary and specialty care services.
In this role, Dr. Shelton will lead the medical group’s daily operations, direct long-term strategy, and partner with clinical teams to ensure that patients continue to receive excellent health care.
Dr. Shelton, a family medicine physician and longtime clinical leader for Providence Medical Group, has worked at Providence since 2010, and cares for patients at Providence Family Medicine – Florence . Most recently, she served as the Ambulatory Division Chief for Providence Medical Group in Montana and previously held roles supporting clinical quality and medical excellence.
Dr. Shelton has over 20 years in medicine and healthcare leadership. She holds a M.D. degree from University of North Dakota School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency in Spokane. She is board certified in family medicine. A certified physician executive, Dr. Shelton received a Master of Science in Population Health, with an emphasis in Healthcare Quality and Safety from Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Shelton is affiliated with the American Association of Physician Leadership, American Academy of Family Physicians, and American Board of Family Medicine.
