Synergy at the Advanced Care Center
Less than a mile from Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance, the Providence Advanced Care Center (ACC) offers its visitors the ultimate in convenience, with comprehensive outpatient services provided by a cadre of more than 30 physician specialists. The ACC occupies the 6.7-acre site of the old Daily Breeze newspaper offices, which were razed in 2011. The three-story center at 5215 Torrance Blvd. includes an impressive 106,000 square feet of exam and procedure rooms, infusion bays and public space, including the grab-and-go Mike Murphy Cafe. There are more than 450 free parking spaces, so finding a spot for the car is never an issue.
“It’s a beautiful building with a warm, modern, state-of-the-art feeling,” says Sajid Sindha, the Providence executive director of strategy and business development. “And it’s very close to the hospital.” The ACC welcomed its first tenant, City of Hope | South Bay, in August 2018, when it opened. Since then, COH has been joined by the Providence Outpatient Imaging Center and branches of Coastal Ortho and the Pacific Neuroscience Institute (PNI).
The newest tenant, Providence Medical Associates Torrance Cardiology and Vascular, arrived in December 2023. With the addition of cardiac care, says Sindha, “ACC has an extensive set of clinical services: The four major focuses of patient care – brain, heart, cancer, and ortho – are right there under one roof.” Sindha also notes that the neighboring building, at 5305 Torrance Blvd., houses additional medical services such as aquatic therapy, OB-GYN and plastic surgery, making the two facilities synergistic neighbors to the hospital and to each other. “We’ve established a convenient destination for patients in the South Bay to receive complex care in one single location in all stages of life,” he adds.

Pacific Neuroscience Institute
Pacific Neuroscience Institute’s South Bay clinic is part of the renowned Santa Monica-based practice. This location focuses on the treatment of brain tumors; movement, pituitary and spine disorders; and ENT and facial nerve problems. “We are a multispecialty clinic that allows patients to meet with multiple doctors on their care team without traveling,” says practice manager Natali Escalante. “Most of our doctors order specialized imaging, and that can be scheduled on the first floor [at Providence Outpatient Imaging Center] for patient convenience.”

Providence Outpatient Diagnostic Center
The comprehensive imaging services at the Providence Little Company of Mary outpatient imaging center complement the four other ACC tenants’ services. Patients who are referred from one of the other offices can visit as a walk-in and get same-day imaging after a short wait, whether that’s CT/PET, digital X-rays, fluoroscopy, MRI or ultrasound. “Our patients can come for their CT and ultrasound, then walk within the building to their provider at City of Hope or Pacific Neuroscience Institute,” says manager Angi Bugg.

PMA Torrance Cardiology and Vascular
The newest arrival, Providence Medical Associates Torrance Cardiology and Vascular offers heart disease diagnosis and management. Cardiovascular conditions the group specializes in include arrhythmia, coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension and peripheral vascular disease, as well as outpatient cardiac rehabilitation. Practice manager Christine Cruz says that she and the doctors have been pleased with the new location. “The ACC facility has ample parking and is easily accessible, and the building is easy to find,” Cruz says. “The benefit for patients is the convenience of being able to see other doctors in the same building. Some of our patients have appointments the same day with Outpatient Imaging, PNI and Coastal Ortho.”
