Providence Centralia Women's Center
Providence Centralia Women's Center
At Providence, we believe it is essential to explore each patient’s unique needs and provide individualized care. We understand that a woman’s health needs change over time, and our providers are skilled in managing your care at all stages of life – from your first gynecologic visit, to helping you deal with the challenges of menopause, and everything in between.
Women face unique physical and hormonal changes – from pregnancy to menopause to heart disease. Our board-certified providers and knowledgeable support staff are dedicated to partnering with you so that you thrive through all stages of life.
Our team is passionate about caring for women, offering our services for women of all ages, with a focus on healthy aging. Annual wellness exams, including cancer and infectious disease screening, are a key part of women’s health care.
If a routine or acute exam indicates there is a need for further screening and/or treatment we offer many procedures within the comfort of our office, such as biopsies and LEEP (loop electrosurgical excision procedure).
We help patients navigate the challenges of menopause by discussing symptoms ranging from hot flashes and mood changes to painful intercourse. We know that each woman may have different goals, and we work hard to ensure your treatment plan addresses your concerns. Common treatment options include hormone replacement therapy and herbal remedies.
Working in partnership with you, we guide you through every step of your breast health journey. We support you with free risk assessments as well as regular, age-appropriate exams, yearly mammograms and follow-up appointments.
3D mammography is an advanced breast imaging procedure that captures images from different angles of the breast and is better able to ensure early detection of cancer because the images are not obscured by dense tissue.
In addition to mammography, we offer additional procedures to examine and diagnose abnormal breast tissue, including ultrasounds, biopsies and breast needle localization.
Our breast patient navigator meets with patients at the time of an initial abnormal finding and works with them through any additional needed diagnostic procedures and treatment.
If breast screening indicates a potential need for surgery, our team at Centralia General Surgery can complete a full workup of breast concerns or abnormalities and advise patients on treatment options in addition to working with patients to understand their risk for future breast issues, including risk for breast cancer.
Pregnancy and childbirth are a big milestone in the life of many women, and we are here to ease your way. Providence obstetrician-gynecologists (OBGYNs) and certified midwives deliver thousands of newborns every year. Whether you’re trying to conceive, just learned you’re pregnant or you’re ready to give birth, we will be at your side with the support you need.
Our team of experts work together to ensure that welcoming a new child to your family is everything you imagined it to be. Our OBGYNs will guide you through the journey.
Our OBGYNs and certified nurse midwives deliver at both St. Peter’s Family Birth Center and Centralia Hospital’s Family Birth Center to ensure comprehensive labor and delivery services are available 24/7. You’ll have expert medical care from a team eager to ease your concerns and share your joy.
Providence St. Peter Hospital has a Level II special care nursery, which means we have advanced expertise and facilities to care for high-risk infants – including those with feeding or breathing problems, pre-term infants and those with serious medical conditions.
We’ll provide one-on-one breastfeeding guidance to get you and your baby off to a good start, including follow-up classes and support. We offer free Lactation Consultant services to mothers staying at the St. Peter’s Family Birth Center, and nursing support at both hospitals. Our lactation consultant will develop a feeding plan and assist with any breastfeeding concerns. Breast pump equipment is available to rent through the volunteer’s office.
When you are facing a gynecological condition, the symptoms can impact your day-to-day life. Medication and non-invasive treatments help many women experiencing a gynecologic issue, but if they don’t, surgery is often a good option.
If breast screening indicates a potential need for surgery, our team at Centralia General Surgery can complete a full workup of breast concerns or abnormalities and advise patients on treatment options in addition to working with patients to understand their risk for future breast issues, including risk for breast cancer.
Our surgeons are experts at procedures such as hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery. We ensure our patients understand why surgery is indicated, and cover the risks, benefits and alternatives in a comprehensive fashion.
We offer state-of-the-art laparoscopic, robotic-assisted and trans-vaginal surgery for a wide range of conditions, including heavy menstrual periods, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, cervical and uterine cancer, and pelvic floor disorder. These methods of surgery minimizes pain and recovery time for patients.
Pelvic floor disorders (PFD) impact one in three women. The good news is that PFD is not considered a normal part of aging and can be treated successfully with the help of a specialist. Urogynecologists are fellowship-trained to diagnose and treat women with pelvic floor disorders.
You may want to see a Urogynecologist if you have experienced:
- Urinary incontinence (including stress incontinence)
- Pelvic organ prolapse or dropping of the pelvic organs
- Fecal incontinence or accidental bowel leakage
- Pelvic mesh related problems
- Painful bladder or interstitial cystitis
Diagnostic procedures such as urodynamic testing, cystoscopy and trans-perineal ultrasound may be needed to diagnose and develop a treatment plan and are able to be performed within the comfort of our office. Many conditions can be treated with non-surgical interventions including pelvic floor physical therapy, tibial nerve stimulation and bladder instillation.
Some conditions are best treated with surgery, and we have a variety of available procedures to treat PFD, including sacral neuromodulation, mid-urethral sling, urethral bulking and pelvic floor and bladder Botox.
We are proud to offer our patients minimally-invasive options, including robotic-assisted (sacrocolpopexy, hysterectomy and uterosacral ligament suspension) and trans-vaginal (hysterectomy and sacrospinous ligament fixation) surgeries.
When the doctor says it’s cancer, your world changes in an instant. If you’re a woman who has heard this diagnosis, you have a lot on your mind, your heart and your plate. So much to do, so much to learn and so many important decisions to make. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
Providence gynecologic oncologists are fellowship-trained to treat cancers of the reproductive organs, including the ovaries, cervix and uterus. They focus on women’s health and cancer care, including sophisticated medical, surgical and other therapies.
