Meet the Team

At Providence, you'll have access to a vast network of dedicated and compassionate providers who offer personalized care by focusing on treatment, prevention and health education.

During your treatment, we do our best to put you at ease while providing care with our private infusion suites. You can take advantage of massage and acupuncture services to help you relax while you’re with us. We’ll also partner with you to meet your nutritional needs throughout your treatment.

Our oncology nurses and technical staff are here to support you throughout every step of your treatment, which can include:

Our doctors work closely with your cancer care team to make sure you get the best possible care. For many people, a medical oncologist will serve as their main doctor. All of our medical oncologists are board certified, which means they have passed rigorous training and testing to become experts in healing your cancer. Your team may also include:

  • Chaplains
  • Counselors
  • Dietitians
  • Patient navigators
  • Pharmacists
  • Physical therapists
  • Social workers trained in oncology counseling
  • Surgeons

Fighting cancer takes a toll on your body, mind and spirit. We’re here to help with counseling, support groups, educational resources and more to help you through your healing journey.

  • Outpatient counseling: We provide counseling to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Some insurance plans cover part of the cost, and a sliding fee scale is available.
  • Pastoral care: While you’re with us, you have access to 24/7 emotional and spiritual support with a qualified, on-site pastoral care staff member with experience in helping people cope with unexpected diagnoses and challenges.
  • Cancer Information Center: Our center provides information and resources for cancer survivors and families in a single, central location.
  • Clinical support: Our goal is to deliver excellent patient care and support throughout your healing. We offer lymphedema care, pain control and home health and hospice.
  • Cancer research: Clinical trials help us create new, safe and effective ways to better treat cancer and improve the quality of your life. Our research also helps us find new ways to prevent and detect cancer.

Cancer doesn’t discriminate, but access to great cancer care hasn’t always been the same for everyone. At Providence, we are deeply committed to making sure every patient we treat has access to the best cancer care. We value, respect and support the racial, ethnic, religious, gender, sexual and spiritual identities of each member of our diverse communities, and we never turn a patient away. Instead, we work harder to make sure every patient is treated equally and with dignity – whoever you are, and wherever you're at.

When you become a patient at Providence, you become part of a collaborative cancer-care network that often exceeds national measures for patient outcomes. This network includes award-winning physicians, scientists, researchers and caregivers across 51 hospitals in seven states. The power of this network, combined with the expertise of your local team, means you’re getting the best, most compassionate care. And if you need to meet with a specialist outside your area, we’ve got telehealth technology to help. Our network is one of the reasons 50,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients choose Providence each year.

Providence cancer research provides options, and hope, for patients seeking advanced therapies. We’re proud of our history of groundbreaking firsts and pioneering clinical trials: Providence led the international trial of the first immunotherapy to be approved for patients with melanoma. We conducted the first successful gene-engineered T-cell therapy for metastatic pancreatic cancer. And we have over 90 years of radiation research. As a Providence patient, you have the opportunity to participate in – or benefit from – one of over 1,300 new clinical trials that begin each year.
