Providence Psychiatry Clinic - East
At Providence Psychiatry Clinic – East, our psychiatric specialists and mental health therapists assess, diagnose and treat adults with psychiatric conditions.
We work with our patients to develop a personalized care plan that best suits their needs. We know our patients may feel fragile when they come to us. That’s why we offer compassionate care and understanding in a healing environment.
Our goal is to support patients so they can return to their primary care team for ongoing care. Care plans may include medication management, therapy or transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
We treat adults who need psychiatric care but don't need to be seen more than once a week. We also assess patients for placement in a more appropriate level of care.
We do not treat patients who need intensive outpatient services or long-term mental health care. In addition, we do not provide treatment for children, chemical dependency and eating disorders.
We now offer Spravato, a treatment that can help adult patients who have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder. Patients considered candidates for this therapy are those who have not benefited from standard medications or talk therapy (psychotherapy). To learn more, call our clinic.
Our psychiatric specialists work with their patients to provide therapy that will help bring stability to their lives.
Our services include:
- Medication. There are many potential medications for psychiatric conditions. Our experts work to find the most effective medication for their patients’ needs, at every stage of their life.
- Therapy. We offer individual and group therapy. Our innovative program is patient-centered and uses the Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) model of care. This highly effective therapy incorporates mindfulness and encourages patients to move forward with their lives while also acknowledging and accepting inner feelings they may struggle with.
- Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). This non-invasive therapy is for patients who have medication-resistant depression. TMS involves placing a special coil onto the head for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. The coil sends gentle, highly focused, magnetic pulses to stimulate activity in an area of the brain associated with mood. Once the session is complete, the patient can resume normal activities immediately.
- Spravato. This is a nasal spray therapy that can help adult patients with treatment-resistant depression. Spravato contains esketamine, a derivative of the anesthesia drug ketamine, which has been found to have antidepressant benefits. Patients may be considered for this therapy if they have major depressive disorder and have not responded to antidepressant medications or talk therapy (psychotherapy).
