About Us
Excellence is one of the five foundational values of our organization. We expect accountability for excellence in performance and for adherence to professional and organizational standards. Many of the rigorous standards we abide by were created by our health care system. Additional standards are required by county, state and national organizations.
Our employees are the most valuable assets in assuring the provision of the highest quality health care. They, together with our volunteers, donors and community partners, help us continue to fulfill our vision.
We are pleased to share our extraordinary ministry with you as well as the unique community programs that go beyond traditional hospital services - including our Community Resource Centers in Blue Lake, Eureka, Loleta, Rio Dell and Willow Creek.

There are multiple ways you can recognize caregivers at our hospitals in Humboldt County for delivering an exceptional caring experience during your or your family member’s visit. Please see below for recognition opportunities.
The Daisy Nurse award is a nursing recognition program developed by The DAISY Foundation to honor extraordinary nurses identified by their patients and/or their families for the super-human work nurses do every day. Developed by the family of Patrick Barnes as a way to say "thank you" to nurses everywhere for the extraordinary care their son received while hospitalized, every month a winner is selected from the nominations by the DAISY Committee.
Awardees are selected based on the detail of the nomination, their great clinical skill and leadership as well as their especially strong patient care and compassion demonstrated and aligned with our mission, vision, and values. Nominate a nurse.
Providence Promise Champion nominations are a way to share the great work clinical and non-clinical individuals and teams are performing each day as Providence Humboldt works to develop a more patient-centered culture by showcasing specific examples of what it means to deliver exceptional care and deliver on the Providence Promise. Nominate a caregiver.
