Quality Care and Technology at Its Best

With a generous contribution by Patricia and Raymond Chambers, Healdsburg Hospital was able to reopen its Intensive Care Unit in 2008. The Intensive Care Unit is staffed by on-site hospitalists and intensivists and uniquely equipped with telemedicine consultation technology.

Remote Telemedicine Consultative Technology

Introducing remote telemedicine consultative technology to the ICU has significantly enhanced the quality and capability of service that each patient receives. The HDH telemedicine program allows doctors to access our ICU through a remote presence monitor to analyze a patient’s condition.

With this technology, HDH has access to a wide range of physician specialists. The HDH telemedicine program is directed by Gary M. LeKander, MD and makes it possible for primary care physicians and our local specialists to consult immediately with on-call specialists throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

As one of Northern California’s pioneering hospitals using a remote presence, we are able to save more lives and improve patient care, while lowering costs for our patients and the hospital. We are proud to continue this tradition of excellence in serving our patient’s healthcare needs in the most efficient and effective way possible.
