Sub Acute Care
Providence sub-acute centers provide treatment and care for our more fragile patients. Through an interdisciplinary approach to patient care, doctors at sub-acute care centers are able to maintain a homelike environment for patients while attending to their every physical and psychosocial need.
Our skilled medical teams of physicians, nurses, therapists, dietitians and case managers work in partnership to treat sub-acute patients. They strive to create an environment that minimizes disease progression, helps stabilize patients and returns patients to their highest level of independence and function.
Sub-acute care is a uniquely designed form of treatment for patients who require special services, such as inhalation therapy, tracheotomy care, intravenous tube feeding or complex wound management care.
Medical conditions that may require this form of care include respiratory failure, spinal cord injury, cerebral vascular accident, severe heart attack, traumatic brain injury and multiple sclerosis.
