Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center invites community to inaugural event providing support services to underserved populations
Driven by its Mission of serving the poor and vulnerable, Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center’s Hirsch & Wohl Mental Health Program is inviting local residents to its first Community Connection Day to help link people to vital services.
In partnership with the Warner Park Recovery Center and LA Family Housing, the event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 17 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 5619 Lindley Ave., Tarzana.
With more than 50 service providers already scheduled to attend, this free event is designed to connect individuals and families who face challenges accessing vital services, with local community providers. Among those services are routine health screenings, housing assistance, job placement, emotional support counseling, food assistance and cell phone access. The Community Connection Day also will feature food and giveaways.
“This event represents a crucial step toward addressing and mitigating the challenges faced by some of the most vulnerable members of our community,” says Kira Taylor, MPH, DHA, Hirsch & Wohl Mental Health Program clinical program manager.
The hospital’s Hirsch and Wohl Mental Health Program was established to provide resources to patients and families, and to also connect underserved populations with community resources, inspiring the culmination of Community Connection Day.
