St. Peter Family Medicine Residency

The Providence St. Peter Family Medicine Program provides comprehensive, full-scope family medicine training in a community-based hospital setting. It has been recognized as a high-level patient-centered medical home and has been training residents to be excellent full-scope family physicians for almost 30 years.

Rachel Harrick, MD

Dr. Harrik was raised in an Army family, living in Kentucky, Washington, and eventually settling in Wisconsin where their family is from. They attended the University of WI- Madison for a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies with an emphasis in South Asian Studies. Their experience before medical school was largely in social services for homeless populations. In medical school, Dr. Harrik worked with the Hmong community in Wausau, WI, helping to increase access to healthcare careers for Hmong high school students. Ready to branch out from Wisconsin, Dr. Harrik, along with their wife and baby, were drawn to the PNW by its atmosphere and adventure. They were drawn to St. Peter Family Medicine because of the program’s clear dedication to both resident wellness and caring for underserved populations. They have special interests in patient education, mental health, and addiction medicine. They particularly enjoy helping patients navigate the complexities of their health and the healthcare system. Outside of medicine, Dr. Harrik enjoys spending time with their family, reading fantasy, and going to local events.

 

Jessica Larsen, MD

Dr. Larsen grew up in Snohomish County but spent the past 8 years in New Mexico where she attended medical school. She is excited to be back in the green Pacific Northwest. Prior to medical school she started a family, went to massage school and was a certified birth doula. Her primary goal as a family doctor is to come alongside her patients to work together to address patients' healthcare goals in a trusting relationship. She is additionally interested in women's health, mental health and addiction medicine

Amy Loret, MD

Dr. Loret was adopted from China at the age of two and grew-up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She attended the University of Utah where she studied biology, psychology, and ethnic studies. She was involved in many community service, research, and mentoring experiences throughout college. Her passions within medicine include lifestyle and preventative medicine, mental health advocacy, and palliative care. She is excited to be a Family Medicine doctor and is grateful for the opportunity to make strong, lasting connections with her patients. She cannot wait to explore the Pacific Northwest with her husband and their dog. When she is not spending time outdoors skiing, hiking, or gardening, she likes playing boardgames, cooking, painting, jigsaw puzzles, and cuddling with her cat while binging the Great British Baking Show.

 

Phuoc Nguyen, DO

Dr. Nguyen was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and moved to Washington at the age of 5. He obtained a degree in Biology at the University of Washington, Bothell. He would go on to Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa for medical school. During medical school, he embarked on an international rotation in Vietnam, an experience that deepened his commitment to global health. He remains devoted to implementing proven methods to enhance the well-being of local communities. Within the realm of family medicine, he is particularly interested in global health, integrative medicine, and sports medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Nguyen enjoys snowboarding, kayaking, hiking, riding his bike and spending time with his family and friends.


Raphael Nowak, MD

Originally from BC, Canada, Dr. Nowak studied at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan) and was involved in various provincial and national advocacy projects pertaining to access to safe and clean drinking water. His passion for service led him to become a veteran search and rescue volunteer and medical responder of one of British Columbia’s busiest search and rescue organizations. He has also worked with emergency social support services, incident command systems, as well as with foreign humanitarian projects. Raphael graduated from the Ben Gurion University Medical School for International Health and is passionate about full-scope family medicine, global health, medical innovation, and serving diverse or underserved communities.

 

Camphell Torres, MD

Dr. Torres grew up in Anacortes, a small town in the northwestern part of Washington. At the age of 16, his family moved to the Salt Lake City area where he finished high school before studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Utah. Determined to become a doctor, he travelled across the country to attend the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia. It was here he developed a passion for full-scope family medicine and working with underserved populations. Other professional interests include emergency/urgent care, street medicine, and wilderness medicine. On the weekends he enjoys mountain biking, running, skiing, and playing or watching sports.

St. Peter Family Medicine Chehalis Rural Training Program

The rural training program is centered around providing high-quality care for an underserved population. The program is based at Providence Chehalis Family Medicine with first-year rotations at Providence St. Peter Hospital alongside the Providence St. Peter Family Medicine Residency Program, and second- and third-year rotations at Providence Centralia Hospital.

 

Carmen Jones, DO

Dr. Jones was born in Pullman but moved to Phoenix at a young age. She studied neurobiology, physiology, and behavior at Arizona State University which is where she was first introduced to the field of addiction psychology. Throughout undergrad and later during medical school, she volunteered with Sonoran Prevention Works, a harm reduction group in Tempe. Her interest in addiction medicine is part of what drew her to the field of family medicine, along with the desire to connect with and form long-lasting patient relationships. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her cat DJ, scoping out cool breweries with her partner, and making art.

 

Andrea Negrete, DO

Dr. Negrete, born on the East Coast, was raised on the West Coast, primarily in Southern California and Northern Washington. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from Seattle Pacific University and a Master of Arts in Medical Sciences from Heritage University. She subsequently pursued her medical degree at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima. During her medical education, Dr. Negrete actively contributed to volunteer efforts at Washington state’s largest free clinic, focusing on reducing barriers to healthcare access. She is passionate about serving underserved populations and enhancing equity in healthcare delivery. Medical interests include full-scope family medicine practice, osteopathic manipulative treatment and procedures. In her personal time, Dr. Negrete enjoys reading, going on walks with her dog and cat, watching crime dramas, attending concerts, playing board games, and spending quality time with her family.

 

Nikolai Reitz, DO

Dr. Reitz grew up in Eagle River Alaska and developed a love for the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and boating. When he can't be outside, he enjoys video gaming, woodworking, and maintaining the 1950's Jeep FC that he inherited from his grandfather. Dr. Reitz has been happily married for 2 years to his wife Katie. His older brother lives in Seattle, and his little sister and parents live in Alaska. It is his hope to someday return to the land of his birth and provide rural focused healthcare to a small town or village near where he can spend his free time walking in the woods or out on the water.

 

St. Peter-Summit Pacific Rural Family Medicine Program

This program is located in Grays Harbor County and is affiliated with the established Providence St. Peter Family Medicine Residency Program. Residents work alongside community-based, experienced family medicine faculty as an integral part of an interprofessional healthcare team to provide care for the culturally diverse, rurally located, and often underserved patient population.

Cindy Martinez, MD

Dr. Martinez believes that overall health can be improved through community involvement and education. She is passionate about rural medicine because she wants to ensure these areas have access to a physician. By committing to these communities, she promises to advocate for her parents and to care for current and future generations.

 

Nathan Rodland, MD

Dr. Rodland was born and raised in Seattle and completed medical school at the University of Queensland – Ochsner Clinical School. He is passionate about providing the highest quality of care and will continue to seek opportunities to engage in global health projects. He hopes to practice rural family medicine broadly, serving pa􀆟ents of all ages and backgrounds.

 

Durganjali Tummala, MD

Dr. Durganjali Tummala, MBBS, is a dedicated medical professional, passionate about rural healthcare. Born in India and educated in Singapore, she returned to India to complete her medical degree. Her journey in medicine extends beyond the confines of hospitals and clinics – she has actively contributed to the well-being of underserved communities through outreach programs.

St. Peter Family Medicine PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency 

This residency prepares pharmacists to pursue an ambulatory care role where initiation and expansion of services are needed, and pharmacy leadership and education are desired.

 

Alexis Albert, PharmD

Dr. Albert comes from Marietta, GA and earned an undergraduate degree in her home state at University of Georgia. Her clinical areas of interest are dermatology and primary care, and she looks forward to her residency as it offers ample opportunities for growth. When not working, Dr. Albert enjoys traveling, eating at fun restaurants and reading audiobooks. She is looking forward to exploring all Washington has to offer and really wants to try skiing!

 

Zofia Dice-Cholodzinski, PharmD

Dr. Dice-Cholodzinski grew up in Mililani, HI and comes to us from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University. Her clinical areas of interest are family medicine, endocrinology and cardiology, and she looks forward to her residency program as a place to expand her knowledge into multiple disease states and strengthen her clinical confidence. In her free time, Dr. Dice-Cholodzinski enjoys dancing, ice skating and hiking, and specifically looks forward to hiking around Mount Rainier. She also looks forward to sampling the local cuisine, especially the fresh seafood.

St. Peter General Practice Dental Residency

Ava Gates, DDS

Dr. Gates comes to us from Texas, where she graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry, San Antonio. Her clinical areas of interest are oral surgery, public health dentistry, care of medically compromised patients and dental trauma. While she isn’t working, Dr. Gates likes to scuba dive, read and experience new cultures. While she is in Washington, she looks forward to sailing, hiking and kayaking.

 

Hunter Irwin, DMD

Dr. Irwin hails from our neighboring state of Idaho. He earned his dental degree from ATSU Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health. His clinical areas of interest are oral surgery, restorative dentistry and management of medically complex patients. He looks forward to gaining additional experience treating patients with a variety of dental and medical needs during his residency. When Dr. Irwin isn’t working, he enjoys hiking, fitness and reading. While in Washington, he looks forward to exploring our state parks and Mount Rainier.

 

Jason Lu, DDS

Dr. Lu calls both Redmond, WA and Shanghai, China his hometowns. He earned his dental degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. His clinical areas of interest include oral surgery, esthetic dentistry, care of medically compromised patients, dental trauma and restorative dentistry. He looks forward to the experience of treating medically complex patients with advanced dental needs during his dental residency. When Dr. Lu isn’t working, he enjoys traveling, singing and basketball.
