Swedish Cancer Institute earns distinguished radiation oncology designation

A first in the Puget Sound area, the designation recognizes the high quality of radiopharmaceutical therapy at the Swedish Cancer Institute (SCI) and the excellence of SCI's radiation oncology team.

The Radiation Oncology Department at the Swedish Cancer Institute has received the prestigious designation of Clinical Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Center of Excellence (RTCOE) from the Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging. This is now the first RTCOE in the Puget Sound area and the second in the state of Washington.

The RTCOE program provides patients with reliable access to high-quality radiopharmaceutical therapy as part of their cancer care plan. The therapy is delivered by highly qualified teams, at technologically advanced sites, and led by physicians trained in nuclear medicine who act as the patient's nuclear oncologist.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the Radiation Oncology Department at the Swedish Cancer Institute. The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging is a nonprofit scientific and professional organization that promotes the science, technology and practical application of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.
