As the structure ushers in a new era of patient care, it’s the unwavering dedication and compassion of these health care heroes that elevates it from a building to a sanctuary of healing.
On Aug. 25, a “Team Tarzana Celebration” was held to bring caregivers and physicians together for a memorable and festive observance of appreciation. These remarkable individuals who devote their lives to caring for others have made a profound impact on the Tarzana Reimagined campus expansion and renovation, and they are at the core of this transformative endeavor.
Since the inception of the five-story, 200,000-square-foot Friese Family Tower, caregivers have been integral partners in its development. Their insights helped shape a space that not only accommodates modern medicine but fosters an environment of empathy, comfort and healing. Each private room was designed to empower staff to deliver personalized, patient-centered care with utmost efficiency.
Building a state-of-the-art tower did not come without challenges, especially amid the global pandemic, but caregivers and physicians at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center took it in stride and kept the community’s well-being in mind amid the inconveniences of construction.

“Our staff have been incredible throughout this project, understanding that there's this greater good to achieve, and we’ve been able to maintain amazing care,” says Nick Lymberopoulos, chief executive.
The Team Tarzana event served as a special celebration specifically to thank everyone for their hard work all the way through the completion of the project. With live music, catering, a fun photo booth and lots of opportunities for raffle prizes, caregivers made lasting memories together and excitedly geared up for opening day of the new tower.
The Friese Family Tower boasts an expanded emergency department, allowing caregivers to extend their healing touch to more patients and ensuring swift care during critical moments. They received extensive training from July until the tower opened in the fall, familiarizing themselves with the new surroundings and technology and reinforcing their commitment to exceptional care.
