New roles at CORE focus on data & analytics

Two CORE veterans are stepping up to fill two new positions aimed at enhancing CORE’s data and analytics work.

As CORE continues to advance and support a variety of data and analytics initiatives, we’ve created two new roles to support that work: the Data and Analytics Manager and Data Scientist positions.

We are incredibly excited to share that two of our existing team members have stepped up to fill these impactful roles!

Megan Holtorf, MPH, CCRP, was promoted to Data & Analytics Manager. Megan joined CORE in 2014 and has held several positions, including Supervisor, Research and Reporting. In the new role, Megan looks forward to fostering collaboration between CORE and other teams and institutes within Providence, providing oversight and governance of CORE’s data and analytic systems, and leading and supporting the data analyst team. The role is also accountable for expanding CORE's capabilities in the areas of data integration, statistical analysis, technical tools, and data translation, including mentoring and improving skills of other CORE analytic and technical staff.

Megan has a BS in biology, an MPH in epidemiology and biostatistics, graduate certificates in both geographic information systems and bioethics, and is a Certified Clinical Research Professional. When not in the office, Megan can be found exploring trails and rivers around the Pacific Northwest.

Daniel J. Fish, PhD was promoted to Data Scientist. Dan joined CORE in 2015 and has worked on many technical projects including producing the Oregon Coordinated Care Organization metrics dashboard and building our network analysis capabilities to visualize complex community relationships and dynamics to help understand power building efforts. Dan will provide analytical and technical leadership for a variety of CORE projects and lend his expertise to solving a wide range of data, analytical, and technical problems. Focus areas include investigative design, development of technical tools, statistical analysis, verifying data accuracy, and interpretation and communication of results.

Dan holds a PhD in systems science / mathematics from PSU and a MA in mathematics from the University of Florida. Outside of work, he enjoys a variety of musical activities and loves biking, birdwatching, hiking, and camping all around the Pacific Northwest.
