Oncology Pre-surgical Clinic
Our Approach
Providence Oncology Pre Surgical Clinic provides care to patients before their surgical procedures. Our goal is to help assure an optimal surgical experience for our patients needing additional support. Patients are seen in our clinic approximately one week prior to their operation. We see a variety of patients including those receiving: liver and pancreatic surgery, colon and rectal surgery, general surgery, foregut surgery, surgical oncology, maxillofacial surgery, head and neck oncology surgery, gynecologic oncology surgery, brain & spine surgery, thoracic surgery, and urologic surgery.
During the clinic visit our doctor meets with each patient to:
- Order pre-surgery tests (may include an EKG and baseline blood levels)
- Gather required documentation
- Provide pre-operative education
- Review history and treatment plans
- After surgery our doctor often sees patients in the hospital to monitor their progress and provide additional care coordination with the entire medical team.
