Dr. Grossmann is a physician scientist with clinical expertise in molecular genetic pathology of solid tumors and bone and soft tissue surgical pathology. She leads the Cancer Signaling and Immunosuppressive Trafficking Laboratory at Earle A. Chiles Research Institute, a Providence Center of Excellence for immuno-oncology and cellular therapy. As a molecular pathologist, Dr. Grossmann also brings her expertise to the Providence Genomics program.

Dr. Grossmann is particularly interested in the protein ARF 6 and its role in endocytic trafficking within cells, which is crucial for understanding how cancer cells interact with the immune system and resist therapies.

Cancer Signaling and Immunosuppressive Trafficking Laboratory

The focus of the Cancer Signaling and Immunosuppressive Trafficking Laboratory is the study of oncogenic signaling and immune suppression by cancer cells. Her lab studies tumor immunology from the tumor perspective, rather than the host immune perspective, offering a fresh angle on cancer biology.
