Providence Medical Group Behavioral Health and Providence Alaska Medical Center offer neuropsychological and psychodiagnostic assessments for adults and adolescents who are 16 and older.

Clinical neuropsychology is a specialty that focuses on examining the effects of brain and spinal cord injury and diseases of the central nervous system on cognitive (thinking, reasoning and mental processes), intellectual, emotional and behavioral functioning.

Our evaluations offer valuable insight into how diseased or injured neurological structures affect basic abilities and functions.

Specialists may use this information for a variety of purposes, including:

  • Diagnosis
  • Information to guide educational issues
  • Rehabilitation planning
  • Treatment recommendations

We work closely with skilled medical and mental health professionals within the Providence healthcare system, as well as in the community. This helps us to provide a more accurate, up-to-date and integrated diagnosis and therapy recommendations suited to your unique condition and health care needs.

Individuals are typically referred to us for neuropsychological and psychodiagnostic exams by doctors, psychologists, other mental health care providers, educational institutions, insurance carriers and certain public and private agencies.

We conduct these types of evaluations for a wide variety of conditions including:

  • ADHD
  • Brain tumor
