I have seen many Providence physicians for over 10 years. I switched to a new primary care this past year and the process to get an appointment was not great. In the past, I could research who I liked or thought would be a good fit. But this time I was just assigned someone. He turned out to be excellent but I waited 7 months to get an appointment and felt like I had no choice in the matter.

I felt like he really cared. He was very knowledgeable!!

Dr Whu and his team are excellent. Scheduling appointments is really hard though. They were able to squeeze me in thankfully. I usually have to go to Urgent Care for immediate appointments.

The provider was kind, helpful, and patient.

I had a very satisfactory experience. I found my provider was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable in explaining my health condition, patient in answering my questions. I would highly recommend his services to family and friends.

He is always very positive and a great listener

This was my first visit with Dr. Hwu. It was for a new patient orientation. Dr. Hwu was great! I'm looking forward to having him as my new primary care doctor. My only negative feedback was how frustrating it was to find a new primary and schedule an appointment. So many doctors were not taking new patients. Dr. Hwu was recommended by the bridge team, but I had to wait over 4 months for my initial appointment. During my visit, Dr. Hwu was very thorough and had great bedside manner. He recommended a variety of tests and x-rays before my next visit which will be a comprehensive physical exam. Overall I'm very pleased with my initial visit with Dr. Hwu.

Prior to first appointment with Hwu, I needed referrals and follow up appointments based on other procedures. Dr. Hwu reached out and provided all of the necessary referrals as if I had been his patient for years. Much appreciated.

Dr. Sam is an articulate thoughtful caring physician. I would recommend him.

He's an excellent, compassionate doctor who cares about my recovery

Doctors were great. However, my issue is not solved. I don't know what to do next.

I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Hwu on the same day I called the office, due to a cancellation. I appreciate being seen so quickly as I had a recent increase in pain and discomfort in my hip and was anxious to talk to a doctor regarding this issue. This was the first time I had an appointment with Dr. Hwu, and I was very pleased. He was thorough, pleasant and compassionate about my situation, and gave me immediate advice and a plan for treatment and care.

Dr. Hwu is an excellent sports medicine doctor and we feel like we are in good hands under his care.

DR Hwu was very professional and took the time to answer all of my questions. He was thorough and helped me understand my health condition by showing me the MRI images. I am a visual learner, so it helped to see what he was talking about when it came to the Injury in my hip. I definitely recommend him to my friends and family. He is a good doctor.

Dr. Hwu cares about me as a person and my health. He actively listens to what I have to say. He orders tests for chronic conditions I have where I want to stop taking a prescription medication for to see if that's possible. He doesn't shoot down my suggestions or concerns about my health. A genuine person who genuinely cares about me!

Seemed rushed.I was sent for exrays. They were closing early and would not do yhe xrays. I was leaving town for a week. Also confusion on how to schedule prp treatment.

Excellent clinician

With each visit that I have with Dr. Hwu I gain greater confidence in that I will be treated with dignity and respect. He is a knowledgeable and thoughtful provider who communicates with me with respectful intentions of ensuring that I understand what he recommends and prescribes for the best outcome. He listens to my concerns and responds respectfully and appropriately to how I treat my body. He is in my opinion one of the best professional doctors that I have met and I deeply appreciate his willingness to support my medical journey.

This visit I feel wasn't made as urgently as I felt it should have been. Provider was professional and thorough. But the last couple of times to the doctor I don't feel they listen to me about my body when it comes to their diagnosis.

Excellent care and compassion.

I am a relatively new patient to this clinic and this provider. (This was only my second time meeting with Dr. Hwu.) I came from a small, more personal clinic and I am still having a little difficulty getting used to a larger, more impersonal clinic. I was with my former doctor for about 30 years before he retired a year ago and I miss him tremendously, so please bear with me - it is not that I don't like this clinic and this doctor, I am just trying to adjust.

I was grateful to see a sports medicine specialist for my knee pain. The provider was thorough, responsive and knowledgeable, treating the current pain and limitation as well as discussing options to Improve the functioning of my aging knee. I really appreciate the care I received.

Both times have been exceptional and I feel confident and at ease enough with Dr. Hwu that I have chosen him as my primary care physician due to my previous PCP leaving. Dr. Hwu is a fabulous listener and is very respectful. His level of understanding and knowledge and the ability to communicate clearly what my options are and listen to any concerns I have, has allowed me to choose him to be an important part of my healthcare team.
