Peter M. DeJong, MD

Board certified in both family medicine and sports medicine, Dr. DeJong pursues the same goals in each discipline: “To use my skills and training to help people stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible.” He enjoys building long-term relationships with his patients and helping them maintain healthy lifestyles at every age.

Whenever appropriate, Dr. DeJong emphasizes medication-free treatments such as nutrition and exercise prescriptions. He works closely with his patients to set realistic goals, based on their personal starting points, and to help them take ownership of their health. “Even slow progress is good progress,” he says.

Dr. DeJong earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Mich., and his medical degree at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Saint Mark’s Family Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah, and his fellowship training in sports medicine at the University of California San Francisco. He is board certified in both family medicine and sports medicine.

Outside of the office, his active life includes cycling, skiing, running and hiking. He also enjoys eating good food, traveling, and hanging out with his wife and their dogs.
