About C. Thayer White
Thayer White, MD, believes that his role as a physician is to help patients understand what is happening to them and to educate them so they can make knowledgeable decisions. "My role is to intervene only when necessary, but to always provide support, education and reassurance," he says.
With a special interest in sports medicine, Dr. White believes that staying fit and active is the key to a long and healthy life. He motivates his patients to stay healthy and works with them to help them improve their well-being.
Dr. White earned his medical degree at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He completed his internship, residency and a sport medicine fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. Dr. White has been the head primary care physician for the Portland Timbers since 2013.
In his free time, Dr. White enjoys running, and spending time with his wife and two children hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter.

My care provider has been excellent to date, but scheduling appointments is a nightmare with Providence for both appointments and diagnostic tests. Hold times can be in excess of 45 minutes and call backs are inconsistent.
