Michael L. Potter, MD

Ever since he could recall, Dr. Michael Potter, loved learning and in particular, the human body. That love, coupled with a desire to help people, led him to a career in medicine. “I chose family medicine because of the broad spectrum of knowledge,” says Dr. Potter. “Sports medicine deepens my interest in learning how to help the body perform and heal from injury.”

Dr. Potter emphasize the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illness and injury in athletes and all people who desire to be active. His most important role, as a physician, is to listen to every patient. He believes that every collaborative adventure begins with excellent communication.

His goal is to help people remain active at the highest level they can throughout their lives—believing exercise is good medicine. He works to coordinate the skills of other health professionals, when needed in the treatment of his patients.

“Whether people consider themselves to be athletes or not,” he says, “life can be a physically demanding endeavor, and in that sense all people are athletes.”
