James M. Patterson, LCSW

After a short time working in the investment industry, I chose to go back to school to earn a MSW degree and, like both my parents, work in the mental health and addictions field. I have spent much of my professional life in the Columbia River Gorge working in a variety settings and agencies. I enjoy helping others find new solutions to their challenges and to improve their quality of life and, in turn, those around them. I am always impressed with the resiliency my clients bring to their lives and I always try to help them recognize and utilize the strengths they possess. It is honor and privilege to work with my clients and I strive to approach my work with humility, respect and, when called for, humor. I work with clients of all ages above twelve. I am particularly interested in working with clients with anxiety.

I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
