I had feedback that I messaged to this practice about communication difficulties regarding someone who worked here and my hearing loss. I am hearing impaired and I need to be able to read lips to understand what is going on and the masks interfere with my being able to read lips. They listened to me regarding this. I need to be able to see in order to hear The manager spoke to me about it and wanted to know how to improve that. I was very impressed that I was listened to and that it seemed to be important to this practice. It is important to respect what best works for the patient's Communication needs so that the patient can understand clearly what is going on regarding the medical issue with testing, treatment, and interventions. This practice clearly sought to do what was most effective for me. I am impressed and grateful.

My visits to this facility have always been enjoyable. I'm tested with respect and cheerful smiles. Very positive atmosphere and experience. Thank you Dr Patel and staff for everything.

He was one of the best doctors I have seen in a long time. Really took the time to explain to me what was going on with my pulmonary embolism.

Over the decades that I have had care from Providence Drs, I have been very disappointed overall but Dr Patel is a wonderful physician. He is not only obviously very intelligent with such command of his field, but has the heart of a teacher and was wonderful in answering all my questions about how things worked and understanding why I was having the difficulties I was having. He took time and explained things in a clear and understandable way. That is priceless. He is the best Doctor I have worked with at Providence since Dr DeVore was in practice. (And that's been many years). WE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE DR PATEL ! Don't lose him!!

Dr Patel's office staff were excellent. The MA went above & beyond in helping with an issue about a travel CPAP and orders. Dr. Patel gave me time to ask questions and followed up on a tertiary referral that did not happen as planned & quickly resolved the issue.

Dr Patel has been a wonderful resource. For years I was treated for emphysema and COPD neither of which I had. He is not only a great great Dr but also a great great person. Very very knowledgeable. He is an answer to many of my health problems

Dr. Patel was very respectful and easy to talk to and ask questions of. His staff were very accommodating to me as I had expressed that it's hard for me to get in to appointments. The female staff person that I talk to immediately Suggested that I zoom which was a perfect Suggestion. Also, after the appointment one of the staff called me and made appointments for a follow up after a sleep study that I am undergoing with these professionals. This practice is really hard to get an appointment with so I greatly appreciate the anticipating and planning ahead.

My daughter's visit was excellent and principally the consultation with the doctor. He was very kind and answered all my concerns and questions, thanks to all the team.

I would have liked the office visit sooner as I have problems with the head-set over my mouth. With the office visit I got more clarity about the unit. There were some corrections made on the device. When the pressure gets intense I am trying to work through this. I'm told the device has an air leak, but it blows so much, controlling this is still causing concern. It comes off generally as it usually wakes me up and I not understanding how to readjust the unit.

My questions were answered and his manner pleasant and friendly. Looking forward to having concerns taken care of.

Dr. Praful Patel is a Pulmonologist and I see him for my Cpap and sleep issues. Dr has been the best I could ever hope for. He's the most informative doctor I've had. I wish he was a General Practitioner so he could be my regular doctor.

My experience was ecellent. Dr. Patel is a Wonderful Doctor. He cares about you and he explains everything of why he thinks this or that is necessary.

Dr. P. Patel is arguably the finest pulmonary physcian I've ever seen. He is very professional, knowledgable and considerate. Most importantly, he explains things in a very common sense way and is easy to understand, speaking in simple terms rather than medical mumbo-jumbo. I think he is an outstanding doctor!

Dr. Patel has explained to me everything I needed above & beyond what I typically get from a physician. Since I'm fearful of the treatment, this was very appreciated and helpful. The office staff aren't very friendly nor helpful and I wait over 6 months to get appointments.

The Dr and staff were wonderful. The amount of time I have to wait for a sleep study( 4 months!) seems a little long, but otherwise the visit was good.

While I understand that there is a shortage of doctors, it was frustrating that it took over a month to get an appointment for a condition that I was dealing with at the time. That said, Dr Patel is the best, most informative, most communicative doctor that I have had in Providence for decades. I really liked him, found his explanations, reasoning and expertise refreshing and I so appreciated - so he was worth the wait. I already have great trust in him and his recommendations and I have already sung his praises to my clients. THANK YOU DR PATEL!!

Dr. Patel is very helpful and communicates so I can understand. But I'd also like to give a shout-out to Nicole Fariris, the MA who was so very helpful when I was having problems with the C-Pac mask prescribed. I had had a visit with another staff member and had two previous visits with the supplier of the mask. I was about to give up until Nicole fixed all problems with one visit and actually phoned the supplier to get the problem solved.

Dr Patel refused to see my whole situation, only used one type of test to diagnose me and would not listen to me when I told him that test does not reflect my entire condition. He refused to refill med I have used for more than 10 years. I have seen 2 pulmonologists at this practice previously who were very knowledgeable, helpful and encouraging. They LISTENED!! And they helped me. Dr Patel would not help me as I needed and I won't be seeing him again.

Dr. Patel did not listen to me. There are inaccuracies on his "Progress Notes" regarding the September [Date] visit. The end result of the visit is that I do not trust him and am seeking pulmonological care elsewhere.

The doctor told me that I did not have the condition that I was diagnosed with for years. The reason I was going to this clinic was the care providers were treating me for asthma, the diagnosis made by several other doctors.

Dr Patel is absolutely intelligent client health advocate.

Dr.Patel seemed very knowledgeable and seemed to have insightful understanding of my health situation.

He suggested I begin using a Acapella mucous removal device. I have ordered one and I have begun using it. I'm hopeful this will help strengthen my lung functioning.

Dr. Patel explained the sleep study clearly. The only drawback is there is no availability to do the sleep study until January.

I like that Doctor Patel discussed my illness in a wholesome way. That he's not a "throw medicines at them" kind of Doctor.

He was a very knowledgeable, thorough, nice and friendly provider.

This was initial appointment to establish care. Patel initially sat, made eye contact, asked what brought me into office...but didn't really listen to answer and soon jumped to his feet (he looked down at me the rest of time) and began lecturing me about ways he *could NOT* help me. He leaped to a diagnosis I wasn't concerned about and, essentially, tried to "upsell" me into a sleep study. He arrogantly asserted this was necessary. He never made the case for what problem he was trying to fix with that test, or why it was urgent -- in fact, on retrospect, I don't think we were *ever* aligned on what problem we were trying to solve. FRUSTRATING! Overall, his advice for my MOST LIFE-AFFECTING symptom was: wait until asthma attack occurs, then use rescue inhaler. That's not sufficient for the QOL I'm seeking. I was so angry by that point that I confirmed this was his advice, and then withdrew, although he kept talking about the NFL to this senior woman who hates sports. Big FAIL

Dr. Patel listened, respected my input about my body and was very helpful. I did what he recommended for treatment the following day and have had profound effects in a very positive way.

I've been very sick since my primary doctor retired. I haven't been able to get any care. I've been sick for over 2 months. I ended up going to emergency for care.

Dr Patel doesn't know me from a hole in the ground, yet he acted like he knew everything about my health and the condition that I'm in. His know it all attitude was very hard for me to listen to. I appreciate his education and experience, but his attitude and approach in talking to me as a patient was not appreciated.

Dr. Patel is an exceptional dr., a doctor's doctor. Numerous doctors have told me throughout the past many years that I suffer from asthma, even drs at UCSF. Dr. Patel went the distance, recommended several new to me diagnostic tests whose results indicated that I DO NOT HAVE ASTHMA!!!! And have been taking Intense and many asthma meds for many years which have contributed to me getting osteoporosis. He also referred me to a cardiologist who indicated that I should be on statins. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Patel and feel like I have a new lease on life!

I am 86 years old and during my lifetime I've had many doctors. Dr. P. Patel is absolutely THE BEST pulmonary physician I've ever had. He is patient, extremely knowledgable and thoroughly professional in every respect. More to the point, I admire and respect his medical philosophy in that instead of talking to me in "medicalese" he speaks very simply and with a great deal of COMMON SENSE! I'm lucky to have found him!

From the time I first called and getting in to see the doctor took too long. It is another long wait until the next step. This is for Sleep apnea. Dr. Patel was wonderful. I highly recommend him.

I think it would be helpful to a patient who is hearing a diagnosis for the first time to know that the patient needs sometime to comprehend a diagnosis that is completely new to the patient. I was somewhat stunned to hear my diagnosis and the treatment. It was totally unexpected.

He is convinced sleep apnea is the cause of all my ills and a c-pap machine will take care of everything. Does not listen well and challenges my report if my experiences. His notes to my PCP not include his recommendations for me which added a device to my treatment plan.
