I was referred by the oncologist to see a rheumatologist about my elevated ANA levels. We did further lab testing and Dr Jaya Philipose said that everything was normal, considering that I had an antibody disease, and the only thing to watch would be the thyroid antibodies which were elevated. She said that the endocrinologist or a primary dr could get that tested once a year to keep an eye on It.

Dr. Philipose is quick and concise, but I don't think she always listens well. She knows her field, but not everyone fits into the same frame. With rheumatoid diseases, every patient is a snowflake. She takes notes throughout our visit, but when I read her notes after the visit, they're not exactly what I said. Sometimes they are what Dr. Philipose assumes and what she had said at the appointment. I think she's a good doctor, but I'm mixed about how well she treats me on my visits. Because rheumatoid diseases are so varied, I don't want to find a new doctor. She's doing a well enough job that I can manage seeing her every few months. My disease is not getting worse, after all. It's mostly the right medication than what the rheumatologist believes in getting control of the disease. Since my numbers have dropped some, I think I'm heading in the right direction, and it was Dr. Philipose's decision to send me that direction.

I would not call her team "clerks"...they are Heath & Care Assistants and they are always very knowledgeable about the back-office, the patient and all aspects of follow-up.
