Joon Y. Choi, MD

Dr. Choi was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to the United States for his higher education. He is fluent in both Korean and English. After graduating from University High School in Irvine, California, he attended college at the University of California at Berkeley where he earned a B.A. degree in Molecular Cell Biology. He went on to attend medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where he earned an M.D. with distinction in research and received the “Best Student in Surgery” award for excellence and future promise in surgery. He completed his residency training in Plastic Surgery at the University of Michigan in 2008. This 6-year integrated plastic surgery program at the University of Michigan is widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive and prestigious training programs in the country. His training encompassed aesthetic, breast, hand, and craniofacial surgery. Dr. Choi lives in Irvine, California, with his wife and two children.
