Joshua A. W. Morris, PhD

Dr. Morris practices clinical psychology with individuals across the lifespan and specializes in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults. “Connecting with others has always been at the core of my values,” he says. “I chose this profession to engage in genuine connection and to provide others with the hope, direction and support they deserve.”

In his work with clients, Dr. Morris follows an interpersonal process approach – a type of therapy aimed at addressing current concerns and improving interpersonal relationships. Within that framework, he uses a variety of evidence-based approaches tailored to respect his clients’ unique personalities, identities, cultural values and needs. “I emphasize collaborative understanding of my clients’ challenges to help engage as much change as possible in a short timeframe,” he says. This may involve helping people practice helpful skills, offering feedback on life challenges, and other ways of supporting his clients’ diverse needs.

A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, Dr. Morris earned his doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin. He completed his internship and residency at The Huntsman Mental Health Institute (formerly University Neuropsychiatric Institute) in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born and raised in Colorado, he is happiest when he is exploring the outdoors. He enjoys music, biking, hiking, and spending time with his partner and their dogs.
