About Colin M. Bosma
As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Bosma works with both our Internal and Family Medicine physicians, integrating behavioral health into primary care to treat patients as whole individuals. He was drawn to integrated care, he says, because “it makes evidence-based behavioral health care available to more people who otherwise might not have access to it.”
Dr. Bosma is a scientist-practitioner, having trained equally in both areas. “My work as a scientist informs my clinical work, and my clinical work informs my research,” he says. “This allows me to continuously refine the work I do as a behavioral health provider.” He describes his approach to care as “a strength-based approach,” explaining, “I work with people to leverage their strengths, motivations and values to tackle distress.”
A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, Dr. Bosma earned his doctorate in psychology at the University of Maine. He moved to Oregon to complete the George Fox Integrated Care Internship and the Providence Medical Group Postdoctoral Residency in Clinical Psychology, and now he makes his home here.
Growing up in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, Dr. Bosma developed a love for hiking and camping. He also is an avid reader of sci-fi/fantasy novels, a decent cook and a happy dog owner.
