About Amy L. Hanlon
Amy Hanlon is a psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and provides psychiatric medication management.
Amy began her nursing career with 10 years in the emergency department. While she thoroughly enjoyed the chaos and fast pace of the ED, caring for with patients experiencing psychiatric crises was where she developed a passion for working with patients living with mental health challenges. When Amy returned to university to further her education as a nurse practitioner, her focus had shifted to psychiatric care.
In her practice, Amy embraces a holistic approach to treatment and believes patients should not be defined by diagnoses or symptoms. She believes each patient should be treated as a whole person who is worthy of compassion and support. Amy considers her most important role as a provider is to ensure her patients feel heard, understood, and supported by providing safe, patient-centered care. Amy enjoys developing therapeutic relationships with her patients and enabling them to become active participants in improving their quality of life.
