Jill M. Gelow, MD, MPH

Watching her mom work at a local family medicine clinic, Jill Gelow, M.D. knew she wanted to be a physician. “At a young age I was inspired by the doctor’s ability to help people feel better and I decided that I wanted to be part of a team that worked to help people become as healthy as possible.”

Dr. Gelow, a board-certified cardiologist, earned her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland. During medical school, she also earned a master’s degree in public health focusing on epidemiology and biostatistics. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and then returned to Portland for fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at OHSU. Dr. Gelow is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.

In her practice, Dr. Gelow believes her most important role is to guide and support her patients through their diagnosis and following treatment. “It is very important to me that my patients have all of the information they need to understand their diagnosis and treatment options throughout their journey with heart disease.” She most enjoys the privilege of getting to know her patients over time throughout the process.

Dr. Gelow was born and raised in McMinnville, Oregon. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her young son as well growing flowers, especially dahlias.
