Thomas B. Raines-Morris, MD

Thomas Raines-Morris, MD, loves family medicine because it allows him to really get to know his patients well. He tries to build a safe and joyful partnership with his patients, working hard to understand their priorities and values, and create treatment plans together that best fit his patients’ needs.

In addition to family medicine, Dr. Raines-Morris has a passion for geriatrics, palliative care, and end-of-life care, in particular.

Dr. Raines earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a master’s degree in public health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He completed his residency at Oregon Health & Science University Cascades East Family Medicine in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Although he grew up in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Raines-Morris left the West Coast after high school to explore the country and complete his undergraduate degree in Massachusetts. He joined the L’Arche community in Florida, sharing life with adults with intellectual disabilities. He married another Portlander while in medical school, and together with their son, returned to Portland for good. His personal interests include travel, fatherhood, the Portland Timbers, the Portland Thorns and listening to podcasts. He also likes small dogs.
