About David J. Liss

Dr. David J. Liss is a Board Certified Foot and Ankle specialist and surgeon. His undergraduate studies were at the University of Florida where he graduated with Cum Laude honors for his Bachelor of Sports Sciences and Physiology. He completed four years at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida, earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. He finished amongst the top of his class and earned the annual Dean’s Scholarship Award for outstanding grade point average and achievement.

Dr. Liss completed his three year foot and ankle surgical residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. During his training, he received extensive experience and learned the latest advances in both conservative and surgical management of a broad range of ailments of the foot, ankle and leg.

Now practicing in Los Angeles, Dr. Liss specializes in treating everything from common foot ailments, such as toenail and skin disorders, warts, neuromas, bunions, hammertoes, flat feet, and heel pain, to more complex sports injuries, fractures and chronically painful conditions. In addition, he has expertise in management of difficult to heal diabetic and non-diabetic wounds. Dr. Liss takes great pride in preventative medicine and in addressing an ailment’s root cause, not just treating the symptoms. This has led to a strong background in foot and gait analysis, biomechanics, and fabrication of custom molded orthotic shoe inserts.

Community involvement is very important to Dr. Liss. While now on staff at Cedars Sinai Medical Center he works closely with resident doctors and students as a teaching attending. He has privileges at Marina Del Rey Hospital and Beach District Surgery Center offering both inpatient and outpatient services. In addition, he volunteers regularly at multiple free medical health fairs which serve the underprivileged and uninsured people of greater Los Angeles.

Dr. Liss has affiliations with multiple medical organizations. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Wound Management. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Los Angeles County Podiatric Medical Association, and maintains active memberships of the American Podiatric Medical Association and California Podiatric Medical Association.
