Jamie C. Zampell, MD

Dr. Zampell’s passion for excellence in plastic surgical outcomes is rooted in her desire to bridge art and science. Although offered a full scholarship to Savannah College of Art and Design, she pursued undergraduate studies at Emory University where she immersed herself in pre-medical studies and performed extensive scientific research in tumor immunology. She graduated summa cum laude in biology and went on to pursue her medical degree at Ohio State University. Following medical school, Dr. Zampell completed residency training in plastic surgery at New York University’s Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. It was during this training that she began to merge the practice of surgical excellence with mindful attention to aesthetic ideals. During her residency, she continued basic science and clinical research, including completion of a three year dedicated research fellowship in lymphedema pathophysiology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York where she obtained competitive grant funding from the Department of Defense and Plastic Surgery Education Foundation for breast cancer and lymphedema research. After finishing residency and research fellowship, she then completed a microsurgery fellowship at the University of California in Los Angeles.
