About Alexis A. Tracy
Dr. Alexis Tracy is a board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician, also known as Physiatrist with expertise in non-operative spine care. She specializes in spine imaging interpretation, clinical examination skills, interventional spine procedures (spinal injections) and electrodiagnostics (EMG, nerve conduction studies).
Dr Tracy was drawn to physical medicine and rehabilitation because she considers herself an optimist who never gives up hope on improving her quality of life. Her goal is to help patients fully understand their diagnosis and to help manage their symptoms and limitations in creative ways. Her role is to provide non-operative spine care for patients who do not require surgery and to refer patients for spine surgery when necessary.
“My aim is to empower my patients to understand the cause of their pain, arm them with the tools to improve physical function and pain, and avoid unnecessary medical intervention. l tend to spend a significant amount of time getting to know my patients on a personal level. My job is challenging, intellectually stimulating and extremely inspiring. I cannot wait to wake up every morning to explore each mystery that walks through the clinic door.”
Dr. Tracy attended undergraduate school at the University of Nebraska and medical school at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, where she spent an extra year teaching, doing research, and studying in-depth the osteopathic manipulation technique (manual medicine) for pain. She competed a transitional internship through Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency training at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Dr. Tracy is amazing
Providence Patient
Dr. Tracy is one of the 5 best Doctors that I have ever had, I'm sad to lose her as a provider and she has been the best providence provider I have ever had. I can't say that about many. She listens to everything you have to say, and offers suggestions for options besides surgery. I can't say enough how lucky I was to have her for a provider, she's one of a kind! Thank you.
Providence Patient
She has been the best provider that I have had access to in the entire time that I have been trying to get help with my quality of life and overall well-being. She is the only doctor that has ever stressed that my time is important and that my pain is important and thoroughly discussed everything and talked about different options. There's no stone unturned with her, she's incredible and Heather her nurse this last time was absolutely amazing as well. Tracy is a remarkable caregiver and I am sad to see that she is leaving Providence.

I really liked Dr. Tracy, I just don't have much faith in nerve study.
