Dr. Villanueva has a personal interest in medicine and chronic pain, as he grew up accompanying his mother, who had three lumbar surgeries from severe scoliosis, to her orthopedic and pain doctor appointments and hospitalizations. Dr. Villanueva received his Ivy League B.A. degree with honors from Cornell University (New York), then received his M.D. from the US News & World Top 10 ranked University of Minnesota Medical School.
