About Hilary R. Basco
I became interested in medicine while living in Nepal after college, and in my travels that followed. I was able to work within the healthcare systems in Nepal, Kenya, and in Guatemala and was truly inspired by the challenges faced by developing countries, in particular with regards to children’s health. I continue to have an interest in international medicine and travel, but am currently quite happily settled in Portland with my husband and three children. I am originally from the east coast, but came to Portland in 2000 and have been savoring this beautiful city and the outdoors ever since.
