About James V. Phan

Dr. James Phan is a pediatrician with St. Jude Heritage Medical Group practicing in Yorba Linda, CA. He finds that the most compelling part of pediatrics is preventative medicine: providing “a total package of care” to improve the quality of life. He believes in providing a broad range of care, such as the importance of immunizations, nutrition, exercise, sports, safety, and achieving developmental milestones. He enjoys being part of all stages of life, starting from newborns, following children through their developmental milestones, being a role model to teenagers, and providing reassurance and education to parents.

His philosophy of care is putting patients and their families first and focusing on safety and good outcomes. Each child is different and has diverse needs, so Dr. Phan believes in the importance of listening to their needs and concerns. He also believes in a collaborative process, especially in finding a plan that works best for each family to produce better results.

Dr. Phan is a strong believer in work-life balance. He maintains his strength and energy by continuing to do the activities he loves, including playing tennis, exercising, and engaging in other fitness-related activities. He also enjoy cooking and learning about nutrition. Most importantly, he makes time for his family and friends.

Please note, there is nothing more important to our providers than the health and safety of your children. As a strong advocate of vaccinations, we believe that ensuring the children who visit our office are fully vaccinated is the single most important thing we can do to keep your children and our community safe. If you choose not to fully vaccinate your child, another physician may be a better fit for your family. If you have questions or would like more information on vaccinations, please call our office.
