About Michelle B. Laufer

As a general pediatrician in the Subspecialty Clinic, I have a passion for caring for children with chronic medical and developmental conditions. Nurse care coordination and our co-location with pediatric subspecialists facilitates seamless communication among providers. Prompt sick care availability and intentional scheduling of well-child care along with subspecialty visits eases the way for families by limiting the need for additional trips to clinic. That said, we see all types of kids for all types of concerns including newborn and well-child care, common pediatric illnesses, ADHD and the inevitable bumps and bruises of childhood.

As a mom of three and a seasoned pediatrician, Dr Laufer's approach to caring for children is individualized and based on the values of each child and family. She understands that this applies to everything from managing tantrums or ear infections to nurturing a child experiencing medical complexity, and that there are a range of reasonable approaches to most concerns discussed in the office. Dr Laufer believes that, as a pediatrician, her role is to share options, discuss the evidence-base, and partner with families in adopting care plans that feel right for their child and family. She is grateful for this career which allows her to share in the lives of so many children and families and work with colleagues who have a passion for doing the same.
