About Nguyen S. Pham
An expert in the field of pediatric otolaryngology, Dr. Pham’s clinical interests include cleft lip and palate surgery, pediatric ear surgery, airway surgery and pediatric tumors. He specializes in laryngotracheal reconstruction and ossicular chain reconstruction. At Stanford University, he practiced advanced surgical techniques in airway reconstruction and otological surgery. He practiced the treatment of congenital defects at Stanford’s Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. Dr. Pham has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research nationally.
With a passion for community service, Dr. Pham is committed to working with underserved populations and has participated in multiple humanitarian endeavors including Operation Restore Hope, a medical mission that performs cleft lip and palate surgeries in the Philippines. Also, in 2005, after Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Pham served as one of the initial humanitarian workers at the Common Ground Clinic in New Orleans.
Highly regarded for his teaching skills, Dr. Pham was awarded Best Teacher by the medical students with whom he worked at UC Davis where he was chief resident and won the UC Irvine Faculty Teaching Award. Dr. Pham is affiliated with the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and is a member of the American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association.
Dedicated to clinical excellence, Dr. Pham is board certified in otolaryngology and specializes in pediatric otolaryngology – head and neck surgery. Prior to joining CHOC Children’s, Dr. Pham graduated summa cum laude from University of California, Los Angeles, where he received his bachelor’s degree in psychobiology. He attended medical school at UC Irvine, and then completed his internship and residency in otolaryngology at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. He conducted his fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Stanford University in Palo Alto. Dr. Pham speaks fluent Vietnamese.
