Jarod P. Mcateer, MD

Dr. McAteer was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming and completed his under graduate work at Yale University in 2005. He attended medical school as a Wyoming WWAMI student at the University of Washington School of Medicine and graduated in 2009. He stayed in Seattle to complete his general surgery residency at the University of Washington and during this time he completed two years of clinical research at Seattle Children's Hospital and obtained a Masters of Public Health at the University of Washington. He completed his clinical fellowship in pediatric surgery at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC in 2018. He practices the full breadth of pediatric surgery with a particular interest in advanced minimally invasive techniques, thoracic and foregut surgery, surgical oncology and neonatal surgery. His academic interests include surgical outcomes and optimization of children's surgical care in rural and austere settings. Outside of work he enjoys fly fishing, hunting, guitar and traveling with his wife and son.
