About Jason G. Anderson
Jason Anderson, D.O., is a co-founder of RestorePDX, an interventional spine and sports medicine clinic located in Beaverton, Ore. He specializes in interventional spine, musculoskeletal medicine and electrodiagnostic studies. Dr. Anderson has been practicing medicine since the completion of his internship at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Mich. in 2005. He obtained his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo., and completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics. While in medical school, Dr. Anderson completed a full-year teaching fellowship in osteopathic manipulative therapy. Additionally, he has completed an advanced, interventional pain fellowship program at Orthopaedic and Spine Specialists in York, Penn., in affiliation with Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. "What attracted me to pain management," said Dr. Anderson, "is the same thing that attracted me to medicine in the first place: to make a difference in the lives of my patients and families." In his training as an osteopathic physician, Dr. Anderson studied osteopathic manipulation, which allowed him to help a specific type of patient and led to his quest to help patients rehabilitate from their injuries. In his physiatry (physical medicine and rehabilitation) residency, he learned that increasing function after an injury or impairment was important, and having interventional pain management skills helped patients more completely and more rapidly achieve their goals. Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Osteopathic Association, and the International Spine Intervention Society. He has dual board certification in physical medicine and pain medicine, both achieved in 2009 through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Anderson believes that a team approach is needed to best serve patients and their families while the patient deals with the issues that come from having pain. "I feel that at RestorePDX," Dr. Anderson asserts, "we are able to accomplish this well." He is excited to be able to offer high level, cutting edge care with RestorePDX's team of providers that value education not only for themselves but for their patients as well. During his leisure time, Dr. Anderson enjoys cooking, reading, whitewater rafting, traveling and spending time with his family.
