On a personal note, Dr. Martin is an avid reader, lovers hiking the canyons of LA, and is a six-time Ironman finisher. He grew up in Upstate NY, but is a native Californian having been born in San Francisco. He has been happily married for 21 years and has two children, one attending the University of Wisconsin, the other in high school. He is still waiting for the Kicks championship since 1973.
