Amanda R. Salvado, MD

Dr. Amanda Salvado grew up in Fullerton, California. She attended UC Berkeley as an Alumni Scholar, where she completed a major in English, a minor in Education, and her premedical basic science training. She then worked in the Organic Chemistry Department and studied Biochemistry at Columbia University in New York before applying to medical school. Dr. Salvado received her medical degree in 2003 from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where she was elected president of the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha, and graduated with highest honors. She then attended UCLA, completing an internship in General Surgery and residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. During this time she contributed to research of novel treatments for head and neck cancer. Dr. Salvado was then awarded and completed a fellowship in Laryngology at UCLA. Dr. Salvado is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA. She treats all general adult and pediatric ENT problems and has special interests in disorders of swallowing and the voice. She is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. In March 2014, Dr. Salvado was a guest speaker at The Vocal Masterclass designed for professional voice users, held at Pepperdine University. This 2 day seminar, whose sponsors included SAG-AFTRA and the West Coast Chapter of The Recording Academy, was attended by actors, singers, students of voice, voice therapists, voice coaches, and laryngologists. Dr. Salvado spoke on the topic of the dangers of an incorrect diagnosis for professional voice users. Dr. Salvado is also highly trained in the specialty of minimally-invasive facial plastics and cosmetic procedures, and was recently voted as one of the Top 3 Facial Cosmetic Surgeons in West Los Angeles by The Argonaut News. She has staff privileges at St. John’s Medical Center, Santa Monica-UCLA, and Ronald Regan UCLA Hospital in Westwood. Dr. Salvado lives in West Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
