About Jeana L. Summers

Born and raised in a small town in Southeastern New Mexico, Dr. Jeana Summers attended college in Missouri and then pursued medical school in Iowa. She moved to Oklahoma to complete her residency in orthopedic surgery, where she also met her wonderful husband. Following her desire to specialize in pediatric orthopedics, they moved to Arizona for a year to complete subspecialty training. She is now excited to join the excellent providers at Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists and call Portland her forever home!

Approaching the patient holistically, as a whole unit, is key to Dr. Summers’ practice. Her training as an osteopathic physician has helped instill in her this holistic approach and has awarded her additional musculoskeletal training in osteopathic manipulation. Dr. Summers enjoys meeting new patients, discussing their goals, and helping them achieve optimal success.

Dr. Summers has special interest in pediatric spinal deformities, hip preservation, sports injuries, fractures, and lower extremity issues, including clubfoot. She also has an interest in caring for children with special needs, such as cerebral palsy, and other congenital and developmental anomalies. She is looking forward to serving the pediatric population of Portland for their orthopedic needs.

Dr. Summers is happily married with 4 young children attending Portland Public schools. She is extremely involved in their lives and actively participates in all their activities, whether that be cheering them on during gymnastics tournaments and soccer games, or simply reading and completing homework at the end of the day. She’s involved in the elementary school’s parent-teacher association and loves taking advantage of opportunities to mentor kids. In her spare time, Dr. Summers enjoys spending time with her family - teaching her kids about nature, science, other cultures and languages, and taking them on adventures, like kayaking the Grand Canyon or hiking Multnomah Falls. When she is not treating patients or out on an adventure, she enjoys curling up with a good book or watching an intriguing documentary.

As a mother of four kiddos and a pediatric orthopedic physician, Dr. Summers understands the importance of getting children back to their activities and wants to work with parents to optimize their kid’s recovery.
